After a night of playing Diablo 3, I must say it feels like the same old thing....which is awesome! I loved D2 and played it way too much. I am looking forward to after I complete the quest part. I loved MFing and I hope this brings back the same feeling. Playing D2 with map hack and a teleporting sorc with 900 mf is still one of my favorite gaming memories. I hope people realize the game is suppose to be semi-easy. It's all about kicking the shit out of hordes of monsters and looking for awesome loot.
So today I made it to 43. I'd say I'm pretty happy about that. I think it's fairly ironic that I am the thinnest of my family (6'2", 210 lbs.), and I am the one the doctor put on a special diet for high triglycerides due to hereditary issues. So no breads, starches, basically no carbs.................GASP including Beer!!!! I am doing well and can deal with this diet, but need some beer every now and then. I used to have beer every Frday night when gaming online with some guys I know locally. Now I'm coming up on week 3 no beer on Friday gaming night. I think once a month should be more than reasonable. It's easier to deal with my K/D ratio on MW3 when I have been drinking though and it makes for a great excuse. Oh well!!!!

“Jeff we have to get off this beach!” The beach isn’t safe. The Zeds are around….and other trigger happy survivors looking to make a name for themselves. Gun fire will attract more Zombies (Zed’s).
Jeff doesn’t respond but as I move up he follows and I guess we are a 2 man group now. We follow a road going east in a combat run. Running in a crouch is quitter and reduces our visible profile. I check behind me and Jeff is running down the road.
“Hey get off the road! Follow the tree line – we’ll be less visible to the Zeds or Bandits.” Jeff obeys and hugs the tree line with me. We are a couple of feet inside the fall forest which goes up a fairly steep hill. We stop once in a while to take a knee and scan our surroundings looking for Zeds or Bandits.
Jeff seems more confident in our “plan” and is taking the point. He’s doing good – crouching beside trees and bushes and looking before we move forward to the next bit of cover. He still isn’t talking but we seem to be on the same page and making progress.
“Jeff it’ll be getting dark soon – we need to find a building or some flashlights or something.” As I finish telling him this we can see a bridge ahead and beyond the bridge some little buildings. Hopefully we can find some ammo and food….maybe a better weapon (these pistols we are carrying won’t win us many battles) and a flashlight would be a god send. When it gets dark…..it gets very dark.
Forge Maps for RACE gametype.
As I mentioned before... My oldest son wanted me to do some clips from our race maps, they turned out OK, three now posted to see online at YouTube. (keegraphicsmi) Episode Two: video linked below.
Checkpoint Reached!

Most people like to give their personal opinions regarding things they are active in, and in this I am one of those people. I will say right off however, the WoW forums (and unfortunately the D3 as well), are full of 99.9% toxic waste. I mean really, am I supposed to feel ‘dirty’ by simple reading the repetitive diatribe that is spewed there? I do though. Hell the forums can wield such weight that I am sure this can (and maybe does) true break games.
So. I’ve read a bunch of whooey about the simplicity of D3. The issues with being knocked out of the game, encountering subsequent errors, etc.
1. Simplicity – At level 10, yes this game is extremely casual. It’s like having the fun of raiding without the stress of gearing up or progression. Now I don’t know if it will be more difficult as I get to the more challenging modes, but even if not, I had fun. I ran with 2 guildies (Charity & Nin) and a certain Mr Jamison *waves to all* from 2O2P. While I can’t speak for the others, I really had fun and isn’t that what playing games should be about? Of course, everyone’s definition of fun varies and others wouldn’t find the casualness that much fun. I completely get that and understand it. But why dismiss it as fail, just because it’s not your level of fun? Some people just thrive on not being happy, I suppose ![]()
I went in with an open mind.
I got there too early and the doors were still locked so I waited. Then I waited again for them to open the court room doors. We filled out some paperwork; then waited. They had us watch a movie about Jury Duty, then waited. Finaly they split the group up into 2 smaller groups. Numbers 1-49 went to the north court while the rest remained in the south court.
I was lucky number 13. I was called first. I thought it was odd that the defendant sits in the courtroom while the Jury was picked. So, the Judge reads off the charges, 11 total:
2 counts sexual misconduct with a minor in the 1st.
2 counts sexual misconduct with a minor in the 2nd.
2 counts endangering the welfare of a minor in the 1st.
2 counts endangering the welfare of a minor in the 2nd.
1 count of tampering or threating a witness
-- At this point, I was still ok. I could still be fair. Girl has a fake ID at a bar. "Hey you never know", I thought to myself as they read of the above charges but they got to the final charge.
2 counts of incest.
--Shit--
I grimaced, some people gasped. Durring the selection process, we did find out that it was the defandant's daughter. They called 6 out of the 14 called up. Thank goodness one was not me. They sent me over to the other courtroom.
The charges there were 2 counts of assualt and 1 of endangering the welfare of a minor. They told us there was no witness and the victim could not testify because they were 14months old. I did not even get called up for this one because they filled the requirements for a jury first.
So at the end of February, I took my kids to one of these trampoline warehouses (i.e. Airheads, etc...) for a birthday party and the kids loved it. I hurt my back though, stopping quickly on the trampoline to avoid knocking my daughter down. Figured I pulled a muscle in my mid-back or had a muscle spasm. So, I figured no big deal, I'm getting older and it happens. So after a couple months of nagging pain, I go to my doctor to find out I have a compression fracture in one of my vertabrae. Holy Shit!!!! This is freaking me out. Bad News!!!! So he refers me to a Orthopedist, and I saw him yesterday, kind of freak out about talk from my doctor of Vetebralplasty Surgery. So he does some more x-rays, and it turns out I fractured two vertebrae. Sucks!!! It turns out the doctor is not really cocerned about it, because I basically had reached the healing stage already, and he sees no reason to do surgery. Great News!!!! So still no surgeries EVER so far in 42 years (almost 43)!!!! Woohoo!!!! Side note: No more trampolines EVER!!!! So short of jinxing myself with this post I can look forward to another couple months of nagging back pain while it finishes the healing process. I'm going to ride this with the wife. "Honey, I can't clean out the garage, no heavy lifting for two more months, Sorry!!!!" We'll see how long I can go. I need to rest and get some video games in. Max Payne 3 and Game of Thrones today, and Ghost Recon next week. Also, kicking around with Hitman Absolution Sniper Challenge, which is pretty cool for a pre-order bonus.
2old2play is a great site with lots of different places for people to hang out, share experiences, ideas and good times. As someone who is into game collecting and retro games I feel that the site is lacking a place to talk about these things. Surely there must be others on here with a similar interest, especially since we’re all old farts!
I’m going to post this in a few different forums and if I get some enough positive feedback I’ll propose that we either create a 2old2retro group or at the least have a forum thread devoted to all things retro.
With all the good old games being resurrected and released on formats like PSN, XBL and phones now is the time to look forward to the past!
