In the hospital again

Thats right once again I am a guest at a local hospital.  Extreme abdominal pain, couldn't keep down food, then friday couldnt keep water down.  Last straw was when I doubled over in pain.  So I had a scope done on my stomach and what do you know I have a large ulcer just under my stomach in my small intestines.  Soooo I get to spend another 3 or four days in the hospital or until I can keep food down.  Sorry to all my mates at 2o2s I have had Battlefield since Tuesday but my head was so "out of the game"  All I could play was blops or Rockband3.  I will b

BBC3 pre-order perks

Does antyone know which "perks" your gonna get for pre-ordering BBC3 from Gamestop.  I notice over the past month that they seem to be offering different things at different times.  I looked at Gamestop's details and I think they are "adding" things in for everybody as they go.  But I'm not sure that's the case.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Kidney Stone - part 2

So I got a second stone over the weekend so I went to see a kidneystone specialist on Monday.  I was suprised to find out drinking too much water can be a problem.  I have always tried to "flood" the stones out with water.  Bad idea, only drink when thirsty.  Tip number 2 was the use of Dramamine to settle down the nausea and help with sleep.  Once I pass the  stone this Dr. is gonna help  me focus on prevention.  Please cross your fingers and wish me luck.

I'm just not enjoying kidney stones anymore

I have been plagued with kidney stones for over 15 years now. In the beginning I only had an "attack" every 18-24 months. In July of 2009 I had a gastric bypass. Since then I average a kidney stone every 3 to 4 months. Tonight was my latest journey to the ER in an attempt to gain relief from extreme pain. I see a urologist regularly and am trying to provide him with a 24 hour urine collection. Problem is you can't have any blood in your urine for two weeks before the test and with stones and the residual fragments I can’t go two weeks without blood in my pee. The guess is that I am taking in to much protein through meat. I require 70-80 grams of protein/day since my by-pass. Eating more cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt etc might help. These things really suck and are painful as all get out. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas regarding kidney stones that are a little less conventional as I have tried all of the obvious things. If you have any ideas please leave a comment.

Thanks

Review - Call of Juarez The Cartel

Call of Juarez - The Cartel

My first instinct was to not buy this game.  But it seemed to get bad press so I thought hey this might be OK.  I should have known something was up due to the lack of videos and screenshots being offered for public consumption prior to release.

The Story goes loosely along these lines.  The Mexican drug dealers are attacking on American soil.  This spawns a three person task force to investigate.  The three cops are, Ben McCall he’s the tough nosed street vet who’s seen it all.  Kim Evans Grew up in a ghetto she is now a hardcore cop.  Eddie Guerra is a smooth talking slicky boy with a gambling problem.  They each have dirty secrets that they are hiding.

Problem one with this game, depending on which character you pick the story plays out differently.  I usually like this but the three different stories are very similar.  The story itself is somewhat in depth and believable.  The cinematics are bountiful and most are good quality.  One boring note they use several lame one liners over and over again reminded me of Duke Nukem a little bit.

Having said that, let’s take a look the graphics of this game.  First all of the woman look like they have zombie eyes, freaky.  The graphics are average and I only got "trapped" twice so that was kewl I guess.  I would say the graphics are good but not great.  The physics of the environment leave a little to be desired.  The guns all seem to handle the same.  Driving is tricky at first but becomes almost totally simplistic as you get the hang of it.  When it comes to gunfire the game is somewhat disappointing.  The weapons look like fair copies of the guns they represent.  When it comes to contact/shooting things get a little goofy.  Example you can basically spray bullets at a group of enemy's and they will go down, you can run towards enemy from a distance and knife them easily.

I'm not going into any story details as I don't want to ruin your first time experience. But I will reiterate it is a somewhat interesting story with tons of cuts and cinimatics

I will cover the co-op and MP features next time.

I would have to say that yes there are some exciting parts to the game but overall it was a little repetitive.  I don’t think it’s a buy but maybe better suited to a rental from Redbox or Gamefly

Why rain sux right now

Why is it everytime I try to have a garage sale it rains.  Maybe when there is a drought next time I'll hold a garage sale just to make it rain.  I wouldn't even care but I've got 40 plus hours into prep and planning for this.  Sux.  Anywho if your anywhere near minneapolis mn (eagan) hit me up and I'll get you directions to check out my junk.

Why wreck thy Karma

So yesterday I go to take my kid to school only to find someone tried helping themselves to my car stereo.  In the process they smashed  the crap out of the dash of course.  Fourtantly they must have been kids cuz they didn't get the car stereo the dash stuff still works and my snow blower that was sittin twenty feet away is still in my possesion so that's the silver lining.  Still irks me they had to wreck my Karma for thier fun.  They did manage to take all of my mix cd's my cord for mp3 player, power splitter and my prescription sunglasses.  Hope they get a headache from the shades.  Oh well I got off pretty lucky from now on I will double check to be sure my car is locked.  That's right I was stupid and forgot to lock my car, guess I brought this on myself. Today will be a better day!

Big loss to hockey

Yesterday the hockey world lost a gentle giant in Derek Boogaard of the NY Rangers and formerly of the MN Wild.  On the ice Derek was a force to be reckoned with, an enforcer of the highest power.  Off the ice he was  a gentle caring individual that always had time to talk to a fan even a head case like me.  He will be greatly missed and the world is a better place because he was here.

Can't believe how much junk i got

Started "going" through storage boxes to spark a garage sale next week.  Can't believe how much crap I have been holding onto.  I never realized what a pack rat I am and how much stufff I got.  My goal is to price it cheap, make a little money and get rid of a ton of crap.  My house is a "junk" zone bout to be cleaned up.  The best part is any cash I make I can use to by video games, accesories etc.

Hopefully it will be nice in Minnesnowta next week.

Life's never dull here

So my kid comes in the living room and announces that a bucket we have been using to catch leaking water softner water is full and dripping on the floor. My wife and I go back and I try to remove the bucket when friggen swoosh the back of the water softner explodes in a rush of cold rusty water. My wife grasps ffor the shut offf valve inchs away as water streams into the air and towards my computer rack in the next room. That was krazy. Never a dull moment here man(grin).
